The College Vision Approach

The College Vision Approach has been developed over fifteen years of direct work with adolescents.

It is rooted in the belief that every student has a story to tell, and that through a strong sense of identity and vision, students can not only develop compelling applications that yield results, they can tackle the college process and arrive to a college decision informed by a meaningful understanding of the college communities that will best support their growth and empower them to thrive.

The College Vision Approach encourages students to engage in exploring three simple, but profound questions. Students’ answers to these questions are a powerful tool in shaping the college search and developing their voices and identity through the application process.

Though seemingly simple, the College Vision Questions have a profound impact on the experience of the college process for students, professionals, and families alike.

Who am I?

Through these questions, students are better empowered to use their voices to express the strengths they will bring to the college community.

What is my vision for the future?

With a focus on a future vision, students can make compelling connections between the impact they wish to have, and the college communities that will support their growth.

How will I engage as a member of a campus community to grow toward my vision?

Suddenly, the college process is purpose-driven.
